About
How Myopia is measured?
In the clinic the children and adolescents with myopia are measured PZO (the length of the anteroposterior segment) of the eye by the method of optical biometrics – the most accurate and fast non-contact method.
Measurement at intervals of 6-12 months allows you to assess the rate of progression of myopia in children and adolescents.
About
How Night Lenses Work?
Orthokeratological lenses (OK-lenses) are a method based on the use of special gas-permeable contact lenses that are worn exclusively during sleep. Under the precisely calculated impact of the lens, the corneal epithelium (its surface layer) changes its shape overnight. The impact of the lens is minimal and not harmful to the eye, however, it is sufficient for the refractive power of the cornea to change by the required amount after sleep, and the visual acuity becomes close to or equal to 100%. This effect lasts all day and gradually fades over several days. Sleeping in lenses does not cause discomfort.

Fitting Night lenses
Primary Reception
During this visit, the patient is examined and the lenses that should fit him are calculated. Then these lenses are put on the eyes, after which the patient waits from half an hour to an hour (it takes time to reduce tearing and develop the first phase of the effect). Then the doctor assesses the fit of the fitted lenses and topograms. If the fit is satisfactory and the effect of the lens is central, then the fit ends there. Usually during the same visit, the patient is trained to remove and don the lenses. As a rule, all of the above is within 2 hours. The initial appointment can be slightly longer if the first pair of lenses does not fit. In this case, the doctor changes it to another and after a while again evaluates the fit.
Visit in 7-14 days
It is better if this visit takes place in the afternoon to assess the rate of regression of the effect of night lenses. The doctor examines the patient and, if the result is satisfactory, the patient is scheduled for an appointment 3 to 5 weeks later with the instruction to wear the lenses every night.
Visit after the first night
The patient puts on a matched pair of lenses before going to bed (the day is chosen by agreement with the doctor), sleeps in it, and the next morning, if possible, without removing the lenses, comes to the appointment. The doctor evaluates the fit of the lenses, removes them and examines the patient. If the result is satisfactory, the patient is scheduled for an appointment after 7-14 days.
Visit in 3-5 weeks
This visit is similar to visit # 3. If the result is satisfactory, the doctor may decide on trial passes in wearing the lenses (you cannot skip the nights on your own!). The next visit (like all subsequent ones) is scheduled in 3 – 4 months. The selection is over at this point, the dispensary observation begins.
